In simple terms, Ascension is another way of upgrading your Champions in Raid Shadow Legends. It increases some of their base Stats and sometimes unlocks new Skills or improves existing ones.
So if you want to get the most out of your Champion, you’ve got to Ascend them fully.
Let’s take a look at how it’s done.
Like most Champion Upgrades, Ascension happens in the Tavern. When you know which Champion you want to Ascend, open the Ascend tab.
There’s a helpful little menu that shows what you get for the next level of Ascension, whether it’s a Stat increase or a new Skill Unlocked.
How To Ascend A Champion
To Ascend a Champion you need a special resource called Potions, you can see them at the bottom there.
If you’ve got enough Potions, you just have to click Ascend and get your bonus.
See how one of the Rank Stars on the Champion’s portrait changed to purple?
That’s how you can tell which Champions are Ascended and which are not. As well as the level of Ascension just by looking at their portrait.
And in the same way, you can also see how many times you can Ascend your Champion. The same number of times as their Rank. Rank and Champions can be Ascended up to 6 times, for example.
We need two types of Potions. The first type is tied to their Affinities like Magic, Force, Spirit, or Void. While the second one is called Arcane. Which is the generic Affinity-neutral Potion that all Champions need for their Ascension.
Potions also come in three types: Lesser, Greater, and Superior.
So where do you get them?
There are a few ways. But the first and most reliable one is going to the Affinity Keeps.
Those are special Dungeons that drop Potions instead of Artifacts or Mastery Scrolls. They all have different bosses and mechanics.
You can also sometimes receive Potions as a reward from Clan Boss Chests. Each Keep apart from the Arcane Keep is only open for a couple of days per week. So it’s often a good idea to go and stock up on Potions when you have the energy to spare or are planning to use a Champion soon.
And remember those three types of Potions?
Superior ones are rarer, and won’t drop often in the lower stages, while Lesser Potions are abundant and drop in large quantities.
Champions of higher Rarities and Rank need more powerful Potions to Ascend.
Both are taken into account so a Rare Champion of Rank 6 will be easier to Ascend than a Legendary Champion of the same rank.
And what if you don’t have those Greater or Superior Potions and Keep Guardians just refuse to drop them for you on this particular run?
Don’t worry! You can also mix lower-tier Potions into one of the tiers above them.
Just tap the Potion Mixer button in the Ascend menu and start mixing. This helps you get Potions you need when you need them. Without having to wait for the right day for a specific Affinity.
